The Arc Foundation, with your partnership, is in the business of delivering on dreams.

Amber Meets a Princess

Amber has always dreamed of going to Disney World and meeting all of the characters that are such a big part of her life. Amber’s mom wanted to help to make this “Dream” come true. Amber has been a big support to her mom through some obstacles that have come up in her life, and it was time to return the favor.

Amber and Lori went to Disney in style. They were able to go for Amber’s birthday, and she not only met a princess, but she was also treated like a princess for her special day.

Leo Rides a Big Rig

Dreams are not always of rocket ships to the moon. Sometimes a ride in an eighteen-wheeler is the thrill ride of a lifetime, and for Leo it was just that! M & T Trucking allowed Leo to ride in their "big rig" to Depew, where Leo's truck delivered recyclables to the plant.

Sitting in the truck, Leo was king of the road, eyeing the instruments on the dashboard, watching the oncoming view out the windshield and enjoying the playground of dump trucks, bulldozers, and rigs that welcomed him in the yard. Back on the road, the driver let Leo take part in the action by allowing him to shift the rig into high gear. And it wouldn’t be a day in the rig without a visit to the truck stop for a "cup of joe" with the guys.

It was a day that Leo lived his dream and it was just as exciting as he always imagined it would be!

Charlie Votes to Meet His Hero

For many people, meeting a hero is a dream come true. For Charlie, it was about meeting his hometown hero, County Executive Maggie Brooks.

Charlie is a self-advocate with The Arc of Monroe County who has been a fan of Maggie's since she was a TV news reporter. Always up on current events and news, Charlie’s dream was to talk with Maggie about her transition from journalist to politician, and to ask her about her vision for Monroe County. "It would be an experience of a lifetime," an emotional Charlie said as he told us of his dream.

The Dream It, Do It team made the arrangements and soon Charlie met his idol. He asked Maggie how she decided to become a politician, about the much-discussed Renaissance Market Square project, about her work relationship with Mayor Duffy and about losing her good friend and fellow TV reporter, Gabe Dalmath. Maggie then invited Charlie to the County Offices to meet with people there that he might speak with and influence.

Lanoria Dreamed of Being a Model for A Day!

“Hi, my name is Lanoria and my Dream was to have a Make-Over. It was so much fun! We laughed as I was pampered and polished. I was so happy and excited! Everyone wanted to meet me and I felt like a celebrity… I loved the studio and being part of the Team.

I felt really good about myself that day and will now feel good when I interview for a job!

I would like to thank the cameraman! I would like to thank the hair stylist! I would like to thank The Arc Foundation! And I would like to thank EVERYONE who helped to give me my dream!”
