Confidentiality & Flexibility:
The Arc of Monroe County offers employees a Flexible Benefits Plan. The emphasis is on quality health care and flexibility, choice, and employee responsibility.
Major programs include health and dental insurance, 403-B Tax Deferred Annuity, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and a flexible spending account. In addition to the eight paid holidays, we offer Paid Time Off earned each pay period, beginning in the first month following date of hire.
Medical Insurance:
We recognize that employees have different benefit needs that change over the course of their lives and careers, and we believe the Flexible Benefits Plan is a better way to meet those diverse needs.
The Arc of Monroe County offers 3 different coverage plans to full-time and part-time employees, including domestic partners, with Preferred Care.
Medical Insurance eligibility begins on the 1st day of the month following the start date of employment.
Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA):
As an employee of The Arc of Monroe County, you may be eligible for an HRA. The HRA monies deposited on the employees’ behalf can be used for out of pocket medically eligible expenses for you and your dependents, whether or not you have enrolled in medical insurance with The Arc of Monroe County.
Each calendar year beginning on January 1st, each active benefit eligible employee employed as of January 1st will be automatically enrolled in the HRA and will be forwarded appropriate information.
Retirement:
401(k): Our agency offers a qualified defined contribution discretionary plan.
Regular full-time and regular part-time employees are included in the defined contribution plan after completing 12 months of employment, providing they have completed 1,000 hours of service with our agency during that time, and are at least 21 years of age.
The agency discretionary contribution will be deposited once per year, usually in the first quarter following the end of year.
403 (b): Our company also provides a Tax Deferred Annuity 403(B) Plan (TDA) to eligible employees. The TDA Plan incorporates an employee elective contribution and a matching contribution by The Arc of Monroe County.
Through pre-tax salary deductions, you may contribute up to the federal maximum to your TDA. Once per year, The Arc of Monroe County contributes a match to the TDA. The match will be calculated in accordance to the summary plan document.
Tuition Assistance:
The Arc of Monroe County recognizes that the skills and knowledge of its employees are critical to the success of the organization. For this reason, The Arc of Monroe County supports employees who wish to continue their education to secure increased responsibility and growth. In keeping with this philosophy, regular full-time and part-time employees who have successfully completed their six-month introductory period and are in good standing are eligible to apply and participate.
The Arc of Monroe County will reimburse up to a maximum of 12 credits annually or to a maximum of $2,500 incurred by an employee for continuing education through an accredited program that either offers growth in an area related to his/her current position or might lead to promotional opportunities.
