Community Habilitiation -
Vision Statement
Community Habilitation will sustain or develop skills set to foster independent living for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities living in the community. The services provided will be through the support, teaching and modeling of well qualified and trained staff.
This is a customized support service for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. We serve individuals living with their family or on their own in the community. The services are designed to meet the individual needs of the person within his/her community living environment. Staff supports mainly focus on household management, mobility training, personal health care, medical appointments and social skills.
The members of the community habilitation team are employees of The Arc of Monroe County and are trained to ensure that the individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities receive the appropriate assistance they need.
