At The Arc of Monroe County, we know that people are happier and healthier when they can participate in recreational activities they choose. Rochester and Upstate NY offers plenty of choices! Rich with cultural events and year-round community activities that develop citizenship, build friendships, and enhance everyone’s quality of life, Upstate New York offers the perfect place for these with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities to grow to their fullest potential.
Every day, we bring those opportunities to the individuals we serve, providing a wide variety of social and therapeutic options for leisure and recreational experiences.
Services include:
- sports & spectator events
- Special Olympics training and competition
- theatre and cultural arts exploration
- local excursions and day trips
- educational experiences, such as museum visits and historical tours
- enrichment opportunities on the RIT campus
- social functions, such as dances, mixers, and holiday celebrations
Transportation is provided for most recreational activities and events.
