The Arc Silver Lining provides an opportunity for older adults to be active, and out in the community, choosing how they spend their days. Meet with friends for coffee, enjoy a favorite hobby, or learn a new one, volunteer, sightsee, and visit area attractions.
This person-centered service allows people to choose and plan their days based on their interests. They will build relationships and social skills, learn how to advocate for themselves, and grow more self-sufficient and confident.
A Typical Day
Each day begins with people meeting at a community location, to look at their activity options and plan their own schedule for the day. Some may choose to attend a cooking class, where they decide on a menu and budget, shop for ingredients, and create the meal, while others may head to the ballpark for a doubleheader and lunch. Or, everyone might volunteer in the morning and then split up in the afternoon, with some choosing a movie and others attending a festival.
