Youth Services

The Arc of Monroe offers a number of services for people under the age of 21. These services allow children and youth with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn new skills, foster independence, and become productive adults.

Service Coordination

The Arc of Monroe has a team of Service Coordinators ready to help people navigate the complex state and local service system. We make identifying and applying for services easy and convenient, and can make the transition to adult services seamless.

Community Resource Connections

This service supports people working on the sometimes complicated process of applying for OPWDD eligibility and Medicaid enrollment. We can also help if there is an immediate need for assistance with basic necessities like food, housing, healthcare, and safety.

Behavior Management

Behavior Management is a service available to parents and guardians supporting a person living in their home. The Behavior Management Specialist will visit the home to evaluate the person, and then guide and teach family members in effective ways to support their loved one.

Community Habilitation

This service helps people become as independent as possible by building daily living skills. Community Habilitation is a great option for people who want to develop more social skills in the community.

Family Reimbursement

This no-cost service is designed to help alleviate expenses related to caring for someone with disabilities. Expenses available for reimbursement include, but are not limited to: uncovered medical care, transportation, adaptive equipment, and therapies.

My Time Providers

Trained Care Providers offer relief for family members who need to run errands or other activities they can’t manage while providing care. Once families are enrolled in the program, they will be provided with the contact information for trained providers that they can contact directly.

ROC Your Flight

This no-cost service prepares people and their families for flying out of the Greater Rochester International Airport. Traveling through a busy airport can be stressful.  We make it fun and easy while families practice going through security, and even boarding a plane.
